Collaborate

Edit one project together in real time — see who's here, follow their view, and let SSHOW save as you go.

When several people open the same cloud project, they edit it together live. Every change shows up for everyone right away and lands in the one project — there's nothing to start, send or merge.

This works for projects saved to your SSHOW account. A playground session, or a local .sshow file in the desktop app, is edited on your own.

Who joins

Anyone who can edit the project and has it open at the same time is in the same live session automatically.

  • Who can edit is set in Share › Permissions › Editor Access: Private (only the creator and people given access), Space (anyone in the project's space) or Team (everyone in the team).
  • To work with someone who isn't in your team yet, invite them from the team's Members tab with Invite Member.
  • How many people can edit live at once depends on the plan of the team's owner — see Live co-editors per project on the Pricing page. One person in several tabs takes a single seat, and people watching the play link never take one.

Note If every seat is taken, SSHOW tries once more about a minute later. If it's still full you'll see “Live collaboration is full for this project. Your changes can't be saved until a seat frees up — reload to try again.”

See who's here

Everyone in the session gets a colour of their own, used for their face, cursor and outlines. None of these appear while you are alone.

Header
The faces of the people editing with you sit left of Share — hover one for their name. With more than four people, three faces show and the rest fold into a +N counter (hover it for their names). An eye with a number counts the people watching the play link.
Cursors and outlines
On the scene you're both on, you see each person's cursor with a name tag, and an outline in their colour around what they've selected or are dragging, moving as they drag. Selections show only while you both look at the same moment — both in Design mode, or paused at the same time on the same timeline. A text someone is typing in is always outlined.
Scenes
In the Scenes list, coloured dots on a thumbnail show who is on that scene.
Timeline
In Animation mode, the playhead of each person on the same scene and timeline shows as a coloured mark on your timeline.

Follow someone

Click a face in the header (Follow and their name) to follow that person. Your view then mirrors theirs: the scene, whether they're in Animation mode (with its timeline position and playback), and the part of the canvas they're looking at. Interaction mode isn't followed. A frame in their colour goes around the editor, and a pill at the bottom reads Following and their name.

  • To stop, click the face again, press ✕ on the pill, or move the view yourself — change scene, scroll, zoom, or click the canvas. Following also ends when they leave.
  • A dashed ring around a face means that person is following you.

Spotlight

The broadcast button after the faces (Spotlight me — everyone follows your view) makes everyone in the session follow you, including people who join later. The pill reads Spotlighting. Press the button again (Stop spotlighting) or ✕ on the pill to end it.

Tip Spotlight is for walking the team through a project. Anyone can still step away by moving their own view, and following someone else ends your own spotlight.

Editing together

Everyone can change anything at the same time. A few rules keep your work and theirs apart.

Text in use
A text someone is typing in stays theirs until they finish. If you try to edit it, a message tells you who is editing it right now. You can still move or resize it.
Undo
Ctrl / ⌘ + Z takes back only your own steps, never a teammate's. If someone has since changed the same thing, or deleted it, that part of your undo is skipped and their change stays.
Saving
Changes save automatically. The header shows Saved, or Saving… while a change is on its way, in place of the Save button; Ctrl / ⌘ + S saves right away. If a save you start that way isn't confirmed within about 15 seconds, you'll see “Auto-save is retrying — keep this tab open until it recovers.”
Importing
Importing a PowerPoint, PDF, SVG or Lottie file doesn't replace the project during a live session. Its scenes are added after the current scene, at this project's scene size, and the panel's button reads Add PPT, Add PDF and so on.
AI apps
An AI app connected through the cloud connector can work in the open project alongside you. The first time it acts, the editor tells you: “An AI app you connected is working in this project.”

If the connection drops

SSHOW reconnects on its own. These are the messages you may see, and what they mean.

  • While you're offline you can keep editing: your changes wait in this tab and are sent when the connection comes back — keep the tab open until it reconnects.
  • If a lot piles up while you're offline, editing pauses: “You're offline and the edit queue is full — reconnect to keep editing.”
  • If two edits truly collide, the project is refreshed from the live session: “Your edit collided with another change, so the document was refreshed from the live session.”
  • If your sign-in expires: “Sign in again to keep working — your changes can't be saved until you do.”
  • If the live session stops for good, the Save button comes back and you save as usual: “Live collaboration stopped for this session. Your changes still save normally.”

Live audience

When you present a cloud project in Play — full-screen or in the window — everyone who has its play link open follows your show: the same scene, the same moment of its animation, and each transition as it starts. They don't have to click anything.

  • Play Settings › Audience › Share live with viewers turns this on and off. It's on by default, so turn it off to rehearse without pulling viewers along.
  • Viewers see a pill at the top — Live · your name, in your colour — with ✕ to stop following.
  • If a viewer clicks, taps, swipes or presses a navigation key, they stop following and move on their own. The pill then reads Live with Return to live, which jumps back to where you are. When you leave Play, following ends and viewers stay where they are.
  • The eye in your editor header counts how many people are watching.
  • Viewers need play access to the link (Share › Permissions › Play Access). They don't take editor seats.

Tip Teammates in the editor aren't pulled into your show — use Spotlight when you want them to follow you there.
