Change the language and density in Settings, under the More options menu.
Click Settings in the ⋯ More options menu of the top bar to change the language and the spacing between project cards. Light and dark follow your system on the web, and you choose them in Settings in the desktop and tablet apps.
Open Settings
At the right of the top bar in Studio or the editor, click the ⋯ More options button, then click Settings. In the desktop app, you can also press ⌘,.
On the web, the Settings window has Language and Density. In the desktop and tablet apps, the General tab also has Theme at the top. The AI apps tab is only in the desktop app (Connect an AI app). The Account tab, shown when you’re signed in, is where you delete your account (Sign-in and security).
At the bottom of the apps’ General tab, the app and editor engine versions show, as in ‘SSHOW Studio v… · Engine …’. The desktop app’s Edit settings.json is covered in Desktop app.
Two other places are also called Settings. Settings in the profile picture menu opens the Settings page for your account (Account and notifications). Settings in a project card’s ⋯ menu opens that project’s settings window (Work with projects).
Change the language
-
Choose a language
Under Language in the Settings window, choose 한국어 or English. In the desktop app, you can also choose it from the app menu’s Settings › Language.
-
Reopen in that language
On the web, the same screen opens again right away in that language. The desktop app first asks ‘Change language?’, and when you click Change, every open window reloads. The tablet app switches without asking. In both apps, a window with unsaved changes stays as it is and switches the next time it opens.
Use light or dark
Studio and the editor on the web follow your system’s light or dark mode. There’s no switch for it on the web, so change the display mode of your system or browser.
In the desktop and tablet apps, go to Settings › Theme and choose System, Light, or Dark. System, the default, follows your system. In the desktop app, you can also choose it from the app menu’s Settings › Theme.
In the dark theme, your scenes keep the colors you gave them.
Change the density
Under Density in the Settings window, choose Compact, Comfortable, or Spacious. The spacing between project cards in Studio changes. Rows in the list view stay the same. Comfortable is the default.
The density you choose stays in this browser for next time, and other Studio tabs open in the same browser pick it up right away. In the desktop and tablet apps, it stays in the app.
Reach the top bar with the keyboard
Press F6 to move focus to the first button in the top bar. Press Tab to move between its buttons and ↩ to click one. Press F6 again in the bar to go back.
In the editor, Tab changes the edit mode, so F6 is the way to reach top bar buttons such as Share and ⋯. The editor’s ⋯ › Shortcuts list has it too, as ‘Move to the header and back’.
