The four things you set in Play settings.

Play settings decide what happens when you click media during a show, when you advance past the last scene, and when someone is watching through a play link. At the top right, next to the triangle-shaped Present from this scene button, click the small arrow-shaped Presentation options button. Choose Play Settings.

Open Play settingsChoosing Play Settings from Presentation options opens a panel with four checkboxes where the menu was. Video: Clicking the arrow next to the triangle button and choosing Play Settings at the bottom of the menu opens a panel where the menu was, with Navigation, End of show, and Audience groups and four checkboxes.

End of show

Loop back to the beginning

Off by default

When it’s on, advancing from the last scene goes back to the first scene, and the show goes on. With only one scene, that scene plays again from the start. While it’s on, the animation of the scene you start the show on also plays right away, without waiting for the first click.

Loop back to the beginningClicking on the last scene brings up the first scene instead of the “End of show” card. Video: In a show with Loop back to the beginning turned on, clicking the last scene, Three, brings up the first scene, One, with no end card.

Show the end card

On by default

When it’s on, advancing from the last scene shows the “End of show” card, and advancing once more returns to the editor. The card shows the project name, and the project’s description too if it has one. When it’s off, the show returns straight to the editor with no card. On the card, any key ends the show (Present).

Show the end cardClicking on the last scene brings up the “End of show” card, and one more click brings up the editor. Video: Clicking on the last scene shows a black card with the project name and “End of show”, and one more click returns to the editing screen.

OffOnShows the “End of show” card. Advancing once more returns to the editor. This is the default.

Audience

Share live with viewers

On by default

When you present a project saved in Studio, the screens of people who have that project’s play link open follow the scenes and animation you present. The top of their screen shows “Live · presenter’s name.” If a viewer advances on their own, following stops. Clicking Return to live starts following again. When it’s off, people watching through the link advance on their own. Share with a link explains play links.

Share live with viewersAdvancing in the presenting window moves the window with the play link open to the same scene. Video: Clicking to advance to the second scene in the presenting window on the left also moves the play link window on the right to the second scene, with Live and the presenter’s name at the top.

People with the play link open see your rehearsals too

Share live with viewers is on by default. So even when you play just to rehearse on your own, the screens of people with the link open advance along with you. To rehearse without them seeing it, turn this setting off, and turn it back on before the show.

Looping for exhibitions, hidden scenes, Presenter view

Tip

To keep a show running with no one at the controls. On each scene, add Auto advance from Recipes. On the last scene, choose the first scene as its destination. If you leave it at Next scene, the show stops on the last scene even with loop on.

Tip

If there’s a scene you don’t want to show. Hide that scene in the Scenes list. You don’t have to delete it: the show skips it, and looping skips it too. Work with scenes shows how.

Tip

These settings also apply to Presenter view and the remote. Advancing with Presenter view or the Phone remote follows the same settings. With loop on, “Next input” on the last scene shows “Back to the first scene.” But if you advance again from the “End of show” card with Presenter view or the remote, you go back to the last scene, not to the editor.

Play settings apply only to shows in this browser

The settings are saved in this browser (in the desktop app, in this app), not in the project, and apply to every show you give here. When you present on another computer or in another browser, open Play Settings there ahead of time and check them.

They don’t apply when someone watches through a play link. That view acts as if the media click setting is always on, and it doesn’t advance past the last scene.
